Aqualution leads the way with hypochlorous acid science and technology. It is relatively easy to manufacture hypochlorous acid in an unstable format. However, thanks to our scientists and ground-breaking technology, we are the only company to manufacture completely stable packaged hypochlorous acid that stays stable once opened.

Our hypochlorous acid science and technology

Aqualution® hypochlorous acid technology mimics the human immune system by producing HOCl to combat viruses, bacteria and other microorganisms.

Our unique in-house designed electro-dialysis process produces a stable, fast-acting biocide and we have achieved full compliance with the EU Biocides Regulation 528/2012.

Our products can be supplied as a ready-to-use bottled product or in bulk containers. They can also be generated on-site in situations where the transport, delivery and storage of large volumes of liquid is costly and impractical, including agriculture, horticulture and the food processing industry.

Hypochlorous acid science: Stability

Aqualution Systems is the only company to have developed successful processes for manufacturing hypochlorous which keep it stable once the bottle is opened, without compromising its effectiveness. Unlike conventional ECA hypochlorous, our packaged products can be produced over a wide pH range, are genuinely stable and have a shelf-life of 12 months once open.

These stability data have been validated by the EU biocides regulators’ Rapporteur Member State (RMS) and the competent authority technical committee as part of the approval process.
