Our hypochlorous acid has been used for commercial and industrial water treatment for a number of years within a range of sectors from livestock agriculture, controlled environment crop production, the soft and alcohol drinks industry and food safety. And we have successfully treated billions of litres of water in that time with hypochlorous acid.
We will shortly be commencing project work with respect to the hypochlorous acid water treatment of non-potable water within UK hospitals.
Chlorine is often added to water to kill germs and remove harmful pathogens. When it is added to water, it forms a weak acid called hypochlorous acid that kills bacteria like salmonella and E. coli, as well as germs that cause viruses such as diarrhea and pseudomonas infections.
